A meeting between the Durban University of Technology, students, Higher Education officials and NSFAS is scheduled to take place today.
The meeting has been arranged to discuss issues around student funding.
It follows two days of campus protests.
Yesterday's protests turned violent when students threw rocks at police who had been deployed to monitor the mass action.

Tyres were also burnt on Steve Biko Road.
SRC president Zama Mncube has reiterated that they condemn violence.
"This thing of violence its totally out of order. At the end of the day, once we start instigating violence and throwing stones at police, they are going to retaliate and its not going to be nice. I spoke to DUT students, to say let us not burn. It is my responsibility, as SRC president, to guide them," she said.
Management announced yesterday that lectures, assessments and practicals had been suspended for two days.
