DUT secures high global ranking
Updated | By Nomfundo Ngcobo
DUT now ranks among the top five South African Universities in the world and amongst the best in Africa.

For the first time the university is featured in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2021 which includes more than 1 500 universities across 93 countries.
DUT Vice-Chancellor, Professor Thandwa Mthembu says they are excited over the news and pleased to see that the work the institution has put in is paying off.
He says there is a lot of effort that has gone into research for academics and believes that this accolade will open more room and recognition for more collaborations.
"We have been working quietly but hard and there have been signs we are headed in this direction", he said.
"For example in 2018 the National Research Foundation gave us an award for the improved research in a university", Mthembu said.
