Durban's M4 closed due to protests
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Protest action has broken out on the M4 near Seatides, north of Durban.
Newswatch understands that about a hundred protestors have blocked both the north and southbound lanes with burning debris.
Riza Sadack is with emergency response group CERT.
"The reason for them blocking the M4 and Genazzano Road at this stage is unknown, but there are talks of them wanting houses because their house got washed away during the rain and the flooding."

"At this stage, because the M4 is closed, the residents of Seatides and La Mercy can't get in or out of the area as that's the only access route. So you either stuck out of the area, or you stuck inside the area."
Meanwhile, access through Genezano Road has also been blocked.
