Durban woman facing 30 fraud charges to apply for bail

A Durban woman facing over 30 charges of
insurance fraud is set to apply for bail on Monday

Tembi Sishi was arrested by members of the Hawks this week.
The unit's KZN spokesperson Simphiwe Mhlongo, says the 60-year-old will line up in the Durban Specialised Commercial Crimes Court.

"She's facing 34 charges of fraud where she defrauded various insurance companies, where she joined a funeral policy and claimed that her relative or children she had covered had passed on. The insurance companies suffered a loss of more than R800 000."
Mhlongo says a arrest warrant was issued for Sishi this week after the case was transferred to them.
