Durban woman in court for making false rape claim
Updated | By Nondumiso Dube
A 22-year-old Durban woman has appeared in court on charges related to the opening of a false rape case.

Police say she laid a charge at the Sydenham Police Station on Monday, claiming her 28-year-old boyfriend had broken into her house and attacked her.
The woman returned to the police station the following day to withdraw the case.
Police say when asked for an explanation for withdrawing the complaint she could not provide one.
They questioned the man and it was established he had gone to end their relationship.
The ex-boyfriend says the woman threatened to open a rape case against him if he left her.
Police say the young woman was questioned again and she confessed to making a false accusation. She was arrested for perjury and appeared in the Durban Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.
The matter has been postponed to next month.
