Durban toddler critical after family car hits big rock
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
A Durban toddler is in critical condition in hospital after being flung around his family car which smashed into a rock and overturned on the south coast.

Netcare 911's Chris Botha says the child had been travelling with six other family members when the crash happened between Murchison and Paddock.
He says a teenager was also hurt.
"Another 16-year-old sustained serious injuries. Paramedics stabilised the injured and then transported them to nearby hospitals for further care," he said.
Botha says it appears the car veered off the road going straight into a nearby veld before hitting a big rock.

In a separate crash earlier this afternoon, a 6-year-old boy was hit by a car in KwaMashu, north of Durban.
It's believed the little boy was trying to run across the road in F-Section, unaware of an oncoming vehicle.
"When we arrived there, we found the little boy lying on the road with life-threatening injuries.
Paramedics worked fervently at the scene for some time. They stabilised him and placed him on a ventilator.
The child was airlifted to hospital.
