Durban taxis slash fare prices

There's some taxi fare relief for commuters in Durban.
Several taxi associations that run in the Durban CBD have announced price cuts that will come into effect on Thursday.
Taxi fares for South and North Beach are coming down by R2.

The cost of trips went up in July when taxis were told to honour new capacity restrictions because of the COVID-19 outbreak.
Sifiso Shangase, who's with Santaco in KZN says they've lost many commuters to municipal buses.
"Those buses are subsidized. People who commute into those buses pay about R5.
"Our constituencies saw the need to reduce the amount of money. It has now been reduced to R7 in order to compete with the buses."
