Durban tap water not contaminated - eThekwini

eThekwini Municipality has slammed new reports criticising the quality of the City's tap water.

Some messages published on social media state that Durban's drinking water is contaminated.
The municipality's spokesperson Msawakhe Mayisela says this is not true.

He says the City carries out tests on samples every week, which is why they can assure the public that Durban's water supply is safe for consumption.
"As opposed to the unscrupulous lot that is on a relentless campaign to ruin the image of the city, our water is safe to drink and we will never derive any joy to provide the members of the public water that is unsafe to drink."
