The death toll after the heavy rains that battered Durban on Sunday has risen to three - with others still unaccounted for.

Disaster management officials say members of the police search and rescue team recovered the body of a man who was washed away while crossing a bridge in Verulam on Sunday night.
Another man was able to get himself to safety.
Yesterday, the bodies of a 40-year-old man and his six-year-old child were also recovered in Amaoti after their vehicle was washed away.

The child's mother is still missing.
Co-operative Governance's Lennox Mabaso says there's also a search for a missing child.
"We also had another report of an incident in New Hanover, in uMshwathi just outside Pietemaritzburg where a 12-year-old child is believed to be missing. The search and rescue team is busy with the operation. The same thing applies in terms of a search for a issing woman in Amaoti and other areas are still continuing."
