It's unclear at this stage how many staff members and learners the Grade 7 teacher came into contact with. But the school remains open.
KwaZulu-Natal Education spokesperson, Muzi Mahlambi says the school is being deep cleaned.
"No infection has occurred at a school level. People come to school, not knowing that they are positive.

"We are sending our district officials together with health officials to go to the school in terms of disinfecting the school.
"We are guided by the Health Department officials in terms of tracing of contacts and the magnitude of the tracing. It's not also necessary that the entire institution has to be closed," says Mahlambi.
This brings to 29 - the number of schools in KwaZulu-Natal that have confirmed coronavirus cases.
