Durban road rage incident being investigated by police

Police are investigating two cases linked to a road rage incident on the M13 near Hillcrest yesterday.

A man was shot in the hand after his firearm was discharged during a scuffle with a truck driver - who had apparently changed lanes and almost caused an accident.
Nqobile Gwala says one of the dockets relates to a charge of crimen injuria and the pointing of a firearm. The second is for assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
Gwala says the assault docket is the counter charge in the matter.
Two men got into a scuffle on the M13 yesterday following an incident on the freeway. A video of the fight has emerged and shows the driver of a truck and a driver of a bakkie exchanging blows.
Several other motorists try break up the fight. One of the drivers then pulls out a firearm. During the scuffle a shot is fired. Police said yesterday that the owner of the firearm was hurt.
Medics treated him on scene for a gunshot wound to the hand before taking him to hospital. Gwala says the matter will be sent to court once both dockets have been investigated.
