LISTEN: Durban ratepayers vent over 'flawed' billing system
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
Scores of disgruntled ratepayers in Durban, including pensioners, say they have been slapped with unusually high water bills.

In complaints to Newswatch, some say there have been additional charges they know nothing about.
eThekwini Municipality announced last week that the water bills for at least 49 000 households have had to be adjusted.
It's over an error in the application of six kilolitres of free basic water to some households.
LISTEN: These ratepayers say they are furious:
In a statement, the municipality says affected ratepayers -should approach their nearest Sizakala Centre and bring any supporting documents to make an arrangement to pay.
It says each case will be dealt with on its own merit since each ratepayer’s account is different.
