Management says - among other things - the multi-disciplinary team is focusing on the operating hours of the back of port container depots and a truck booking system.
General Manager at the Port of Durban, Moshe Motlohi says these solutions will bring changes to the surrounding road networks. Truck volumes will be handled more efficiently.

Motlohi says says depots and terminal operators are on board.
"We want to have a booking system that will give the port intelligence of saying how many trucks are coming in each hour so that we can proactively decide how to deploy our resources.
"We hope that all the users will have full visibility of saying - no, I'm not going to send any more vehicles to the port because I know the activity is going to be high." says Motlohi.
