Durban police quell looting attempts

Metro police in Durban say attempts to loot shops on Umgeni Road on Wednesday evening were quashed by officials at the scene.

Protestors barricaded the road with burning tyres and other debris.
They were apparently complaining about service delivery.

eThekwini metro police's Boysie Zungu says there were no arrests.
"There was no looting at all. Yes, there were some attempts, but we as police managed to control the situation."
