Updated | By Bernadette Wolhuter
President Cyril Ramaphosa has vowed that those behind the deadly Verulam mosque knife attack will be brought to justice.
In May, three assailants entered the Imam Hussain Mosque and stabbed an imam, a muezzin and a devotee who had rushed over to help. The devotee - Abbas Essop - died later in hospital while the other two victims survived.
Yesterday, Ramaphosa met with the victims' families at the same mosque in Ottawa.
"I want to promise that our credible justice system will continue investigating the crime that was committed here", he said.
"We will contintue be we want those responsible for the attack and for the killing of our brother to be brought to book", Ramaphosa said.
"We will seek them out because this is totally unacceptable", he said.
