Durban Metro Police urge communities to follow bylaws during fireworks season

Durban Metro Police are urging residents to adhere to the municipality's bylaws ahead of the fireworks season.
Spokesperson, Parboo Sewpersad says anyone found to be contravening the bylaws will be dealt with accordingly.
Guy Fawkes celebrations take place tonight, while Diwali will also be celebrated this week. Fireworks are also regularly set-off over New Years.
The use of big bang crackers is often criticised by pet-owners and animal activists.
The National SPCA's Meg Wilson is urging pet-owners to take the necessary precautions ahead of evenings when people are known to set-off fireworks.
