Durban Metro officer injured in gun attack
Updated | By Jarryd Subroyen
The Durban Metro police officer who was shot multiple times over the weekend is recovering in hospital.
Metro police's Parboo Sewpersad says the policewoman is in a stable condition at the moment.
The 38-year-old woman, who was off-duty at the time, was based at the unit's KwaMashu station.
Sewpersad says the officer had stopped at a traffic light in Iron Street in Verulam, north of Durban when two armed suspects allegedly attacked her vehicle on Saturday night.
They then fled the scene in a bakkie.
Sewpersad says the motive behind the attack is still unknown at this stage. He says police are investigating a case of attempted murder.
