Durban may lose out on hosting 2022 Commonwealth Games

Durban's hopes of hosting the 2022 Commonwealth Games are fading.
Sports Minister Fikile Mbalula says we might have to pull out of the event.
Speaking in Cape Town - he said no final decision had been taken - but admitted there are some problems.
Mbalula says the costs are spiraling out of control, and is much more than the country bargained for.
"Given our economic situation, we are unable to move away from what we have agreed initially, when we agreed to host the Games. But nonetheless, it doesn't seem like we will find each other.

A team went to London to speak to the Commonwealth Games Federation - but Mbalula says they are hopeful that the decision - which should be made next week - will be in South Africa's favour.
"We have given it our best shot, we really wanted the Games here - but what we have in terms of our means - we cannot live beyond that," he said.
