Durban march advocates for disability rights

A march to commemorate Disability Awareness Month gets underway in the Durban CBD.

Hundreds of people are expected to join the procession led by Mayor, Zandile Gumede.
Municipal spokesperson, Tozi Gumede says they want to promote the rights of people with disabilities and encourage members of the public to support them.
"This is our way of showcasing the way we respect the rights and dignity of people with disabilities. As eThekwini Municipality, we are very clear in our policies to accommodate the needs of people with disabilities and hope our society will do the same," she says.

The march will begin at the corner of Dr Pixley KaSeme and Dorothy Nyembe Streets and end at Durban City Hall.
