A Durban man has been jailed for seven years for possession of child pornography.

Tayib Galdari was sentenced in the Ntuzuma Regional Court on Friday after pleading guilty.
National Prosecution Authority KZN spokesperson, Natasha Kara says the 22-year-old was nabbed last September.
"Upon arrest police found 50 images and videos of child pornography on Galdari’s phone. These were inappropriate images of unknown children, from as young as one year old. Most of the images depicted adults engaging in sexual acts with these children.

"In sentencing Galdari, the court also ordered that his name be entered into the National Register of Sex Offenders and that he is declared unfit to work with children."
His arrest followed that of Kaytyn Sean Reddy who authorities say had forwarded Galdari illicit images and links.
The NPA says Reddy's case is still before court.
It says in sentencing Garaldi the court took into consideration the fact that he did not create or distribute the images he was in possession of.
