Durban man has begun serving a life sentence for the murder of his wife
Philisiwe Mvubu.

Thirty-eight-year-old Sibusiso Mvubu was sentenced in the Durban High Court on Friday for the July 2021 murder in the KwaMakutha area.
It's understood the couple lived together and began experiencing marital problems.
This led to Philisiwe obtaining a domestic violence protection order against Mvubu.

The NPA's in KZN’s Natasha Kara says Philisiwe was afraid of her husband and would spend the night at her friend’s house.
The husband handed himself over to police shortly after the stabbing his wife to death.
"In sentencing him the court found that he had indeed planned the murder and he was sentenced to life imprisonment. The NPA welcomes the successful finalisation of this matter and we commend the prosecution and investigating team."
