Durban licencing office to reopen in June

Them in Durban, which has
been shut for two years, will reopen its doors in June.

The building was initially declared unsafe and was subsequently damaged in the floods last year.
The centre handled around R700 000 vehicle transactions a month.
Its 60 employees and services were later relocated to the uMbilo Motor Licensing office.
KZN Transport MEC Sipho Hlomuka inspected the new, temporary premises on the corner of Smiso Nkwanyana and Percy Osborn roads on Tuesday.
He said the closure of the office resulted in a serious backlog in vehicle renewals and registrations, which in turn affected vehicle owners and dealerships.
