Durban joins national anti-corruption march

Hundreds of Durbanites have also joined the 'Unite Against Corruption' march being held in different cities across the country.
A number of organisations, including NGOs and the private sector, organised the campaign in order to raise awareness about the crippling effects of corruption in the country.
Spokesperson for the Unemployed People's Movement Bheki Mbambo in Durban says corruption robs people of the chance to live full lives.
"In the constitution of this country, we've got the right to know. The right to life is very important because everyone must live. We think there should be the right in the constitution to work.
"How could you live without working because the necessity to make you to live is the necessity that you get where you're working. So, there's a question that we're robbed somewhere, somehow," he said.
In Western Cape, despite the rain, hundreds of people have also marched to Parliament in Cape Town, calling for an end to corruption.
Demonstrators have handed over a memorandum, saying enough is enough.
Revered Canon Mpho Tutu was at the front of the march, alongside Cape Town Anglican Archbishop, Thabo Makgoba.
"Corruption steals money from our pockets. It steals bread from our tables. It steals roofs from over our people's heads and it steals the education from our children. So, we are being impoverished by corruption in this country," she said.
Former Intelligence Minister, Ronnie Kasrils, addressed the large crowd outside Parliament.
"There's nothing like the sound of marching feet as abantu. As the people in all their formations. Rise up! Rise up in this troubled world, where there's a capitalist international system which is breeding the greed and the corruption," he said.
