This emerged yesterday, when the 11 who are currently applying for bail in the Verulam Magistrate's Court - made another appearance in the dock.

They're also facing charges related to a deadly knife attack at the Imam Hussain Mosque.

The case has been adjourned to the end of the month for a ruling on bail.

The accused in this matter face a raft of charges - including terror-related charges, murder, attempted murder, kidnapping and extortion.

And State advocate Adele Barnard's told the court that because of the serious nature of these charges, the prosecution team intends on indicting the accused and transferring their case to the High Court for a judge to preside over the trial.

That's likely still a long way off, though, as Barnard's also said investigations are still at an early stage and that the State needs time.
