Durban couple thankful no one injured in house fire
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
Well-known Durban theatre husband and wife team, Aaron and Lisa McIlroy say they're thankful that no one was hurt in a massive fire that gutted their Durban North home.

They were in Grahamstown for the arts festival, when they received that news that their Beckenham Place house was on fire on Saturday morning.
Lisa says it was equally distressing to hear that her daughter screamed as she watched their family home go up in flames.

But she says they've been overwhelmed by the support and assistance from family and friends.
"The most important thing was that no one was hurt. My animals are fine and everyone escaped. In a weird way - I'm grateful that I wasn't there. I think to stand there and witness your house burning in front of you - would have tipped me over," McIlroy said.
