Durban couple nabbed for R10m fraud
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
A Durban man and his wife accused of fraud amounting to some R10 million have been nabbed.

The Hawks say 57-year-old Thys and 53-year-old Irma Bekker were taken into custody on Wednesday morning.
They say the couple's company, Peoples Oil Tree, claimed to have been selling Moringa trees for R50 each.
It's alleged between 2010 and 2015, the man enticed people to invest in the business, promising profitable returns.

The Hawks say some R10 million was deposited into various accounts.
But there was apparently no return on investment.
A case of fraud was opened at Durban Central Police Station.
The pair briefly appeared in the Durban Specialised Commercial Crimes Court today and were released on R5 000 bail each.
The case has been postponed to mid-October.
