The 58-year-old Durban-based televangelist was arrested in April, shortly after landing at the PE airport.

The Hawks say that they are tightening the case and more arrests will be made.

Hawks spokesperson, Robert Netshiunda, says they are now working on arresting those who apparently aided the pastor in the alleged crime.

"In the case of human trafficking and when there are people recruiting - they are part of the case and are on the wrong side of the law. They should be arrested. We don't want to rush into arresting them unless we have a tight case against them. We are still taking statements, and names keep coming up. We're tightening our case and then we will make arrests," he said.

The Eastern Cape Social Development MEC, Nancy Sihlwayi, also spoke to the media outside court.

"This is a victory to the nation and society at large. We do believe that all the issues raised - that the police are not doing their work well. Today, there's a turn around. We really appreciate the democratic constitution of this country. The future of our young ones is well protected," she said.
