Dube-Ncube: Over 142 people killed on KZN roads
Updated | By Sandile Bhengu
KwaZulu-Natal Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube says more than 142 people have died on the province's roads since the start of the festive season.

In a statement, the premier said road fatalities have become a major concern to the provincial government due to the staggering figures.
She's called on motorists to be extra vigilant on the roads, especially during the festive season, where KZN sees a surge in traffic volumes.
Dube-Ncube says authorities will act against those that disobey the law and put the lives of other motorists at risk.
"Perhaps it's about time we call on a total ban of alcohol on the roads because without the ban, we could not be able to curb these accidents.
"We saw it during the lockdown that trauma units were actually close to be empty. We know as well that many accidents that we experienced during this festive season are a result of people that had alcohol and all these are things that we need to seriously consider as a society whether it is not about time."
