Condolences continue to pour in for the family of ANC deputy
secretary-general Jessie Duarte.
Duarte died on Sunday morning at the age of 68 after losing her battle with cancer.
She was laid to rest later in the day in accordance with Muslim rites.
President Cyril Ramaphosa delivered the eulogy at her funeral service, saying Duarte will be remembered for her relentless pursuit of unity.
"She wanted a united ANC and she worked very hard to unite the branches of the ANC and all its structures. She embodied a politics that was neither diverse nor small, her politics were empowering and unifying."
ANC treasurer-general Paul Mashatile said the party will hold a memorial service for her on Thursday.

"We will have the memorial open on Thursday, we
will be able to allow many of you to speak. The Communist Party where comrade
Jessie was a leader with myself, comrade Nomvula, Cosatu where she worked with
workers.
"And we will allow the Women's League to speak and the Youth League because Jessie helped the youth."
