Drop in foot and mouth cases in KZN
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
Agriculture officials say they have seen a decrease in cases of foot and mouth disease in affected areas in KwaZulu-Natal.

Surveillance monitors found that it's still confined to two clusters of dip tanks in Mtubatuba and Nongoma.
Outbreaks of the contagious disease were confirmed in 29 locations, mostly in the uMkhanyakade, Zululand, and King Cetshwayo districts.
The department's Reggie Ngcobo says restrictions on the movement of animals in and out of the disaster management areas helped prevent the spread of the disease.
"This shows that restriction of the movement of animals out of, within and through and into the DMA was sufficient to prevent the disease from spreading.
"The local municipalities of Umhlabuyalingana, eJozini, eDumbe, Abaqulusi, uLundi, eKandla, Mthonjaneni and uMlalazi are now released from movement restrictions."
