‘Dr Matthew Lani’ arrested at Gauteng hospital
A TikToker and bogus doctor who uses the name Matthew Lani online is in police custody.
Gauteng Health says Lani was apprehended by security personnel at the Helen Joseph hospital.
The department says he entered the facility on Sunday evening dressed in a hoodie.
He was also wearing a face mask and a stethoscope around his neck. Officials say he tried to escape through a bathroom window.

He has been handed over to the police.
The infamous TikTok doctor's qualifications came under the spotlight in recent months - with social media users questioning his credibility.
Institutions, including Wits University Cambridge International College, and the Health Professions Council of South Africa, all distanced themselves from him.
