Almost thirty people have been arrested following violent unrest at a resort in northern KZN this weekend.
According to reports the Natal Spa had to be evacuated after an angry mob stormed the premises on Friday morning. Police spokesperson Thembeka Mbhele explains the local community was unhappy about staffing at the resort.
"It is alleged that at about 6 O'clock in the morning a group of people started demonstrating, demanding that the owners vacate the spa", she said.
"They were complaining that the owner is employing people from outside the area and overlooking them", Mbhele said.
"8 females and 20 males were arrested for public violence and assault. They also face other charges", she said.
