Addressing ANC Youth League members and students, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma says education remains the quickest way to bridge the gap between the rich and poor in South Africa.

The former AU-Commission chairperson was speaking at a discussion around free education at the Durban University of Technology last night.
She said South Africans will remain unskilled and unemployed if poverty isn't addressed.
Dlamini-Zuma says the country needs skilled and educated youth to develop the blue economy.
"It's not only to develop ourselves and our communities - it's to develop our economy and deal with unemployment and poverty. We cannot justify any child that's denied education or skills on the basis of poverty or lack of money," she said.

Meanwhile, the discussion around free education quickly turned into a lobbying session for Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma to become the ANC's next president.
Dlamini-Zuma told students youth league members from around eThekwini - that free education economic transformation must not be divorced.
The league's KZN secretary, Thanduxolo Sabelo said they'll make sure their resolution, that Dlamini-Zuma takes over the reigns of the ANC, becomes a reality at the December conference.
