Updated | By Nushera Soodyal, Puseletso Petersen
Groups of people are calling for justice to be served in the case against Durban resident, Dawie Kriel.

They gathered outside the Durban Magistrates Court where Kriel, who went made offensive comments on Facebook concerning Diwali celebrations last year, is appearing on charges of Crimen Injuria.
In his comments, he referred to members of the Indian and Hindu community as, "devil disciples," saying they should go back to India.
Kriel apologised for his outburst saying the comments were made in anger - as he'd been working with animals affected by the fireworks that night.
