Discovery of male body with head injuries sparks investigation
KZN police are investigating a case of murder after a body of a 40-year-old man was found with head injuries and his face covered with a cloth.
Police received a complaint of a murder at a business premises at Lake View in the Verulam area yesterday.
It is alleged that the victim who is a security guard was on duty when he was accosted by unknown suspects who tied his hands before strangling him.
Police spokesperson Nqobile Gwala says he was found by his colleagues who alerted the police.
She says upon inspection it was discovered that cables and three batteries were stolen.
Cases of murder and robbery were opened at Verulam police station for investigation.
