Disaster teams on standby for tropical cyclone Freddy impact

teams in KZN are on high alert, as parts of the province brace for the arrival
of tropical cyclone Freddy.

The SA Weather Service says that some regions in the country will feel the impact of the storm which has already lashed Mauritius and Madagascar.
In KZN, forecasters say Umkhanyakude, Zululand and the Amajuba districts are likely to experience heavy rains and strong winds this weekend. Nonala Ndlovu is the spokesperson for Cogta in the province.

"We've received information from the South African Weather Service indicating that areas in the north might be affected but it won't be as much as the areas of Mpumalanga and Limpopo.
Be that as it may, our teams will remain on high alert to assist and to carry rescue missions when needed."
