Disaster teams on standby amid KZN weather warning
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
Disaster management teams have been placed on high alert due to the weather warning issued for parts of KwaZulu-Natal.
Heavy rains and thunderstorms are expected to lash the province's southern and western regions on Wednesday, leading to possible localised flooding.
"We would like to urge residents living in low-lying areas to be cautious and to be updated all the time from their source of use on the weather conditions across the province," says KZN Department of Cooperative Governance spokesperson Senzelwe Mzila.
"We do expect that low-lying areas could be affected by the inclement weather conditions."
The South African Weather Service forecaster Ayanda Nsele says there'll be showers in KZN's north-eastern parts too.
"The warning is valid to areas over the southern parts of KZN for various district municipalities such as eThekwini, uMgungundlovu, Ugu, Harry Gwala, and the southern parts of Ilembe.”
