Disaster teams busy in northern KZN as Filipo lashes Mozambique
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
Disaster teams have fanned out across KZN's
northern parts, where homes, roads and bridges have been flooded.
Jozini, Mbazwana, Manguzi and Umhlabuyalingana have been battered by disruptive rains after Mozambique was lashed by tropical storm Filipo.
This prompted a Level 6 warning by the weather office.
Officials from the Department of Cooperative Governance have urged residents and motorists to refrain from crossing bridges and roads submerged by flood water - warning that the risk is not over yet.
Meanwhile, the SA Weather Service has sent out a fresh Level 2 warning for the northern and north-western parts of KZN on Thursday.

"It's a severe thunderstorm warning that is covering places like Ladysmith, Dundee, Vryheid and Newcastle," said forecaster Sihle Dlamini.
"We are expecting localised damage to infrastructure and excessive lightning as well."
