Ten new ministers and 10 new deputy ministers were appointed after Zuma dismissed ministers including Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan - replacing him with our former Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba.

The ANC deputy secretary-general has been speaking to news broadcaster, ANN7.

"As a collective of the Top 6 of the ANC, we are not robot and drones. We all have views and we express our views very freely. I do think that there was a sense of discomfort among some of us about the removal of Pravin Gordhan but it is the prerogative of the president to choose a finance minister that he can work with and one that he can have a very close relationship with," she said.

Opposition party, the EFF has described the President's cabinet reshuffle as a handover of the country's Treasury to the Gupta family.

It's released a statement saying it rejects the reasons given for the restructuring by Jacob Zuma.

The DA says the President has drawn a line in the sand, separating himself and the Guptas from ordinary South Africans.

Spokesperson, Mabine Seabe says it's time for all South Africans, regardless of political affiliation, to support their motion of no confidence in the president.

"It's Parliament that elected President Jacob Zuma therefore it must be Parliament that fires Zuma. The time for talk is long over and the time for action is now. The DA is briefing the media this morning on the way forward in terms of the motion of no confidence," he said.
