Details emerge in woman's murder at Glebelands
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
Police have more details of a second murder at Durban's Glebelands Hostel last night.
Police say a 53-year-old woman was shot in the head and chest near Block 46.
She had run a spaza shop from her room at the hostel in Umlazi, south of Durban.
The shooting occurred about half an hour after a 32-year-old man was killed in P Block.
Police spokesperson, Thembeka Mbhele says the murders occurred despite officers being deployed to the area.
"It is alleged two unknown suspects went to her room, where she was running her tuck shop. They pretended to be customers and when she opened the door they fired shots at her. She died at the scene. The motive is unknown at the moment," she said.
Mbhele says it's unclear whether both murders are linked.
