Dept suspends KZN Regional Commissioner

The Department of Correctional Services is remaining tight lipped for now on the exact reasons behind the suspension of its KZN Regional Commissioner. 

The Department released a statement a little earlier saying Nxele has been suspended with immediate effect. 

National Commissioner Zach Modise says the move follows allegations of gross subordination and failing to implement instructions from the national office. 

Spokesperson Logan Maistry says disciplinary processes are already underway.

"Mr. Nxele’s suspension follows allegations of acts of gross insubordination as well as failure to implement instructions of the national office. Disciplinary processes are underway.

"Further details relating to the suspension will not be publicly disclosed as this is a matter between employer and employee."
