Dept officials detect two more cases of bird flu
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
The Agriculture Department has speedily placed another two farms hit by bird flu under quarantine.
It says its teams are also checking the records of cull depots, where chickens from the farms could've been sold, to trace as many of the hens as possible.
The Poultry Disease Management Agency is also helping.

Traders who buy and sell live chickens are required to register with the agency.
The department confirmed yesterday that the H5N8 virus has spread to a third farm in Mpumalanga and one in Gauteng.
Bomikazi Molapo says since the discovery of bird flu in Zimbabwe earlier this year, strict measures have been taken to prevent the virus from spreading including the ban of the sale of live chickens
