The department held a discussion in Durban today - on the National Climate Change Bill.

Pumla Ncapayi - who is with the provincial environmental affairs department - says last year's dramatic storm in Durban proves it's time to face the harsh reality of climate change.

The department says the purpose of the Bill is to build an effective climate change response and work towards a lower carbon economy and society.
