Departments to tally costs from Margate floods
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
Several departments will meet on Thursday evening to determine the cost of damage from the Margate floods.

The south coast town and surrounding areas were battered by a storm on Sunday night.
It killed five people and caused excessive damage to infrastructure.
Cooperative Governance MEC Bongiwe Sithole-Moloi says human settlements, transport and public works officials have been on the ground counting the cost of the destruction.

"Human Settlements, Transport, and Public Works are out there ensuring that they assess the area and determine the cost, which will be given to us.
"Also, we are going to cost how much that vulnerable business people have lost in this disaster period."
Sithole-Moloi was speaking at a disaster management gathering in Musgrave on Thursday.
