According to the official rundown, Day One of proceedings wraps up at 11 pm – but it appears the 1 600 delegates have a longer night ahead of them.
An hour ago - when national youth league leader Collen Maine was supposed to have been delivering the keynote address - not all delegates had arrived at the venue.
Spokesperson Mandla Shange says there's been a delay in registering delegates - as some could not arrive time due to transport problems.
"The registration was supposed to be closed at 11:30am, but we have some delays from many other regions that could not arrive on time - due to transport issues. We are hoping to start by at least 4PM," he said.
