Defence argues Zuma corruption case treated unfairly
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Former President Jacob Zuma believes the corruption charges against him are politically motivated. Zuma and his legal team are in the Pietermaritzburg High Court today - arguing for a permanent stay of prosecution.
Advocate Muzi Sikhakhane argued Zuma has been treated unfairly due to alleged bias.
Meanwhile, Zuma has come out in support of embattled eThekwini mayor - Zandile Gumede.
The mayor was attested on fraud and corruption charges last week in connection with a multi-million Rand DSW tender, dating back to 2016.
Zuma tweeted that he hopes the charges against her are not politically motivated. The former President said Gumede must remain strong.
