Declare the rhino endangered: Rhino organisation
The Southern African Fight for Rhinos Organisation wants rhinos to be labelled critically endangered.
The organisations wants the animal to be upgraded to the appendix 1 category.
Alexia Abnett - who spearheads the group says a petition - signed at Ushaka Beach in Durban yesterday - will be taken to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora at COP17.
"I tabled questions for parliament and the questions to them regarding our militaries, our rangers and the fancy equipment in the national parks over the last 10 years and how many billions that has cost the tax-payer," She said.
