December petrol price expect to spike - AA
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Petrol users might have to pay a little bit more for fuel this December, while a significant decrease is expected for motorists who use diesel.
That's according to the Automobile Association, which has been commenting on unaudited data month-end data.
The price of petrol is expected to go up by between 23 and 33 cents a litre.
Diesel looks set to be cheaper by R1.55 a litre.
Illuminating paraffin is expected to decrease by 49 cents a litre.
"The rand’s positive movement is certainly aiding consumers without which the outlook may have been gloomier," says AA spokesperson Layton Beard.
"Going forward, though, we will continue to call for a re-evaluation of the fuel pricing structure to provide more longer-lasting solutions to mitigate against rising fuel costs."
