Death of Durban 'killer cop' is form of justice, says slain woman's aunt

The family of one of two women who was killed, allegedly by a police officer, says justice has been served now that he has died.

"Some may call it a cowardly move that he took, but if he would have ended up being sentenced and that's a big if, because we don't know what would have happened, he would have been out in a few years," says the aunt of one of the victims.
"It would be very dark, the day we are celebrating a person's death, but I am not at all."
The 23-year-old constable, Blessing Sikhakhane, was found dead in his cell at the Westville Correctional Centre.
It's believed he took his own life.

He was arrested in October after 18-year-old Enhle Majola and 24-year-old Sthembile Ngobese were found shot dead in his home in Botha's Hill, west of Durban.
Majola's aunt Precious Ndwalane says they are still in the dark about what happened on the day of the shootings.
"I am angry that we won't get the answers that we so desperately want and are still seeking but I am not sad, I don't know if that is even ok to say and there is a level of peace knowing that he will not see the light of day outside of prison and if he was fighting this in his head, he deserves it, not in a bad way."
The visible policing officer appeared in the Pinetown Magistrate's Court just last week, saying he would now be seeking bail after initially abandoning it.
Westville police say the circumstances surrounding his death are being investigated.
