Deadline for parties to form coalitions in hung municipalities
KZN Co-operative Governance MEC Nomusa Dube-Ncube says she's pleased that political party negotiations in the province are proceeding smoothly.
There were seven hung municipalities in the province following the 2016 Local Government Elections earlier this month.
Dube-Ncube says discussions among parties are ongoing.
She says they want to have completed the process by Tuesday next week.
"September 7 is the last date but we have allowed that in cases where there are no agreements we've got seven days by law in which to reconvene the meetings where there are no agreements in municipalities," she said.
